Gateway Music Outreach is thrilled to spotlight Sabrina, a gifted double bassist whose passion and dedication are taking her from St. Louis to a prestigious program at The Juilliard School! Her incredible journey showcases the power of opportunity meeting determination, and we couldn't be prouder.
It started with connection and support. Sabrina joined our Adopt-A-Musician program, designed specifically to break down financial barriers for promising young musicians. Through this income-based scholarship, she gained access to:
With this strong foundation from Gateway Music Outreach, Sabrina expanded her horizons through the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra’s Peer-to-Peer Mentorship Program, learning from professional musicians and collaborating with peers.
This summer (2025), Sabrina takes a remarkable leap forward! She's earned acceptance into the Sphinx Performance Academy held at The Juilliard School. This elite, full-scholarship national program champions gifted string musicians of color, offering intensive development in chamber music, solo performance, and personal growth.
Sabrina's story is the mission of Gateway Music Outreach in action: opening doors of opportunity for personal, social, and scholastic advancement of youth through music. . Her success reflects her own immense talent and hard work, amplified by the belief and support of mentors, educators, and partners.

The Gateway Music Outreach String Quartet made their debut by performing the first movement of Joseph Bologne’s String Quartet in G Major. Thanks to a new partnership between Gateway Music Outreach and the Chamber Music Society of St. Louis, the quartet members receive regular coaching in chamber music performance.
Funding for the concert was provided by the American Water Charitable Foundation and supported by Missouri American Water.
We were thrilled to introduce Gateway Music Outreach students and parents to the captivating realm of opera through OTSL’s Opera on the Go! program. The program showcased an enchanting in-person, semi-staged performance of Gilbert and Sullivan’s 1879 comic opera Pirates of Penzance, along with three engaging workshops: Music and Drama, Character and Movement, and Stage Makeup. It was truly an exciting and enriching experience for all involved!Ga
