In addition to in-person jazz workshops, this year's camp is introducing a groundbreaking feature—VR field trips that bring the world of music to life like never before!
With the power of virtual reality, campers will immerse themselves in iconic musical moments and settings. They can step into historic concert halls to witness legendary performances, join a live jazz ensemble in the heart of New Orleans, or even feel the vibrant energy of a string quartet on an international stage. These virtual journeys are carefully crafted to inspire and educate, transporting campers to the very heart of musical excellence.
By blending VR with the traditional camp experience, we aim to deepen campers’ understanding of music’s history, context, and emotional depth. This innovative approach enhances their musical journey, sparking creativity and offering a glimpse into how technology can transform artistic expression and education.
Join us at the GMO 2025 Jazz Camp for Strings for a summer filled with music, discovery, and unparalleled experiences!
The Gateway Music Outreach String Quartet made their debut by performing the first movement of Joseph Bologne’s String Quartet in G Major. Thanks to a new partnership between Gateway Music Outreach and the Chamber Music Society of St. Louis, the quartet members receive regular coaching in chamber music performance.
Funding for the concert was provided by the American Water Charitable Foundation and supported by Missouri American Water.
We were thrilled to introduce Gateway Music Outreach students and parents to the captivating realm of opera through OTSL’s Opera on the Go! program. The program showcased an enchanting in-person, semi-staged performance of Gilbert and Sullivan’s 1879 comic opera Pirates of Penzance, along with three engaging workshops: Music and Drama, Character and Movement, and Stage Makeup. It was truly an exciting and enriching experience for all involved!Ga
We are thrilled to announce a groundbreaking partnership with **CoSpaces Edu**, a leader in virtual reality education! This collaboration marks a significant milestone in our mission to make music education more immersive and accessible than ever before.
Transforming Music Education.
As an **Impact Partner**, we are excited to expand our VR music offerings throughout 2025. Why This Partnership Matters
This partnership elevates our existing VR music program by providing new ways for students to not only experience music but also to build and shape their own virtual musical worlds. Imagine virtual concert halls, interactive music theory spaces, and much more – the possibilities are endless!

We are extremely proud of our accomplished violinist who began her musical journey with us at one of our satellite locations in 2019. In just five years, Zxphina has completed an incredible missions tour with Eastern European Music Mission, showcasing her skills in Germany, the Czech Republic, Vienna, and Austria!
Zxphina’s success is a testament to Gateway Music Outreach’s “Adopt a Musician” program, which provides opportunities for personal, social, and academic growth through music.
As a member of Gateway Music Outreach, Zxphina also participates in the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra’s Peer-to-Peer program, further honing her skills and connecting with other young musicians.
We want to extend a big thank you to our generous sponsors: The Whitaker Foundation, Ameren MO, and the Arts and Education Council for making Zxphina’s journey possible.
Let’s celebrate Zxphina’s amazing journey and the transformative power of music!
